Join us for our Kids Cooking Class in NYC with a Kids at Work Chef!
We are pleased to introduce a truly age-appropriate cooking class for children of preschool ages 2-5 years!
These kids cooking classes in NYC are ‘hands-on’ – we work with children on chopping, mixing, combining, and introduce kitchen tools like whisk, spatula, blender, and mixer!
All cooking projects are made 100% from scratch by the children. Generally, we alternate savory and sweet recipes!
A typical cooking class at Kids At Work NYC
Our cooking classes for kids cover cooking safety in an age-appropriate setting. Children are encouraged to get messy and taste their creations!
- After a short discussion of the tools and ingredients of the day, children complete a simple baking or cooking project (sometimes savory, sometimes sweet!).
- Children get to taste their own creations! We never pre-make projects; each child receives whatever it is they actually created. The amazing cause and effect relationship of cooking will be sure to impress them!
Our teachers are trained in food safety. All of the projects in our cooking classes are cooked fully in our oven or cook top before children eat them.

Food allergies or restrictions? Please let us know well ahead of your first class if your child has any allergies or food restrictions (vegetarian, religious restrictions, etc) and we will do our best to accommodate. Egg/dairy allergies or restrictions are generally no problem. Our facility is nut and seed-free.
Kids’ Cooking Class FAQs
How do you handle food allergies and restrictions?
We’ve worked with many children with allergies and food restrictions including vegan, halal, and severe allergies. You must let us know at least 5 business days before your scheduled class if your child has any food restrictions.
Please email us at info@kidsatworknyc.com if you have allergy concerns, as for most recipes we have alternate ingredients or you are welcome to bring them.
If you/your child are vegetarian, you are always welcome to bring veggie options for any egg/dairy included in a particular week’s recipe. Usually, any meat in our recipes can be simply left out.
Our kids cooking classes in NYC are drop-in classes. Teachers see some familiar and new faces each class. Because of this, families with food concerns must let us know about their circumstances prior to EVERY SINGLE DATE that their child will attend.
Kids at Work NYC is nut and seed free at all times.
Do I need to be present in my child’s cooking class?
Yes. All of our cooking classes for kids require adult participation regardless of child age.

Our packages can be used to register for Kids at Work toddler classes in NYC (minimum age of 12 mos or older).
