Kids Summer Camp in NYC
Join Kids at Work for this creative, rich summer camp for kids in NYC featuring child-friendly weekly themes.
Your child will participate in Kids at Work’s signature child-driven and age-appropriate music, sensory art, outdoor playground (private space on site including sprinkler play) and “morning meeting” activities.

Camp takes place at Corlears School, located at 324 W15th Street.
Our philosophy is progressive and child-directed. This kids summer camp in NYC is designed specifically for twos and threes. Children thrive in our messy, choice-based environment within the beautiful, air-conditioned setting.
Kids at Work Camp teachers are career-level teachers. Leads are hired with a minimum masters degree in early childhood in progress. Assistants are hired with extensive age-appropriate experience.
Parents receive a weekly newsletter through our partners at Storypark, which includes photos and videos! All children MUST be experienced with separation in a classroom environment before coming to camp.

Please be prepared to provide a signed health form from your child’s pediatrician, which is dated no earlier than Aug 1, 2024 and no later than June 1, 2025. This is the same form that all licensed daycares/preschools/camps use, so feel free to send us whatever you’ve sent to their school, as long as it is dated after Aug 1, 2024! We will solicit this and other necessary forms from you in early May 2025 via docusign. Please do not send forms before May 2025.
Summer Camp FAQs
Is your summer camp licensed?
Kids at Work Summer Camp is fully licensed by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. You should NEVER drop your child off anywhere for any amount of time without confirming licensing with the DOH.
Should I sign my child up for other camps while my child is enrolled?
We strongly recommend signing up for only one camp program at a time. While variety may be exciting for adults, young children need consistency in order to feel safe and to acclimate to our program. The children who are the most happy in our program come for several weeks, which gives them more time to get to know our staff and facility. We do not recommend signing up for KAW camp on T/TH and another camp on M/W/F, for instance.
How old does my child have to be to participate in summer camp?
Our summer program accepts children ages 24 mos – 3 years, 9 mos as of June 15, 2025. Due to DOH regulations, we cannot take children younger than 24 months of age.
My child is not used to drop-off programs, can I still send them to camp?
Please, only send your child to camp if they’ve already had experience with separating in a classroom, in a preschool or day care.
Your child will not be happy in our program if they are not already comfortable with drop off. All children must be experienced with separation in a classroom environment before coming to camp.
Our staffing does not allow for the adequate comforting of separation newbies. That said, our experienced staff will be prepared for children with a limited amount of jitters! We simply cannot provide the attention that separation newbies need whilst providing the dynamic and exciting environment the other families have signed on for.
If your child is in a “gentle separation” or preschool prep program, please ensure that they are fully separated for the entire program, at least 4 hours per week, by April 1, 2025.
Kids at Work runs a wonderful Preschool Prep program specifically designed for children undergoing their first separation at our main Kids at Work location!
How many kids can be in the summer program at the same time?
We have a limit of 12 children per day.
Do you run camp in August?
No; camp ends on August 1, 2025. Corlears School uses August to renovate and prepare their building for their upcoming school year.
Where is camp located?
Kids at Work Summer Camp for Kids in NYC is located at The Corlears School – 324 W15th Street, between 8th and 9th Aves.
We use a beautiful, air conditioned classroom, indoor gym, and Corlears’ on site private outdoor playground.
What is the student/teacher ratio?
Our ratio is a max of 12 children with 3 experienced teachers; when music is an activity at our summer camp, our music teacher is a fourth additional teacher. The Corlears School is fully staffed while we are using their space (front desk, custodians, etc.)
Are your teachers CPR/First Aid Certified?
Our summer camp is required to maintain a health director on site who is certified in First Aid for the Professional Rescuer as well as CPR/AED for Healthcare Providers, a total of 36 hours of training in advanced first aid and CPR.
At least one other teacher in the room also has basic First Aid/CPR certification for children and adults and at least one teacher in the room is certified to administer EPI-PEN medication in an emergency.
Please note teacher staff cannot dispense medication except for EPI-PEN in an emegency.
What food is my child allowed to have at camp?
Pack your child a nut and seed-free snack (refrigeration is provided). Camp participants will be emailed allergens to exclude from snacks on a weekly basis. Please note we must refrigerate children’s snacks per DOH regulations.
How does Kids at Work Summer Camp handle parent communication?
Communication is extremely important at any summer camp, but especially at a camp for 2-3’s. Parents can email our camp lead teacher any time at Campleadteacher@kidsatworknyc.com or our main email at info@kidsatworknyc.com. For information needed during camp hours, parents can call the Kids at Work main line at 212-488-8800 or text us at 929-581-8234.
Teachers maintain a diapering/toileting list during camp and caregivers/parents are encouraged to take a look at it at pick up to get details, or speak to our experienced staff before or after camp.
KAW sends out a weekly newsletter including pictured and videos via our partner software “Storypark”. Enrolled families will receive an invite to storypark shortly before they begin camp! All families receive a detailed docusign which includes a questionnaire where we can learn more about your child prior to their start date, and upload your child’s required health form.
Can I pay by ACH?
Prefer to pay via ACH? Call us at 212-488-8800 or text us at 929-581-8234 to get set up!
Do I have to register for all 6 weeks?
No – Registration by the week with consecutive weeks NOT necessary! Our summer camp has a 2 week non-consecutive minimum.
